Some useful reference sites for people interested in learning more about conservation efforts in New Zealand:

Department of Conservation (DOC) is the central government organisation charged with conserving the natural and historic heritage of New Zealand

NZ GIS In Conservation (GiC) is a community trust set up to assist conservation groups with developing GIS maps of their areas and activities.

Predator Free NZ is focussed on fostering a nationwide campaign to protect our endangered native species by eliminating the threat of predators.

NZ Birds Online: provides a very comprehensive and up-to-date source of information about New Zealand birds.

Nature Space is a website set up by DOC so that volunteer conservation groups have an online presence.
